Found Hose Clamp End Cracked Off
Hey guys. Came back from a usual 2 hour ride the other day. Lifted off the seat to vent out the engine compartment and found this at the bottom of the bilge: Its the end part of a worm hose clamp. I found where it had cracked off from - its the clamp that goes around the air intake from the silencer I think. According to the schematic diagrams it's called a "Tridon Gear Clamp" I check that hose and the clamp itself, and all other hoses and clamps - all seem to be tight and fine. Dropped into the dealer with the piece that cracked off piece and inquired about what may have happened - they said it may be vibration (or is resonated) that cracked it since there was a lot of slack/unused/extra section of the clamp that was dangling. All seems fine, but wondering if you guys ever seen this before? Thanks PS Ski is the 2011 GTI 155 Limited.
