    head gasket 2007 rxp ????

    just spent a weekend away,had great weather and water was like glass...

    all up i did about 6 hours on the ski with plenty of WOT passes...

    when i removed the bung plugs for the trip home, it looked like they had coolant on the thread.... i checked the coolant and it was at half..

    i took the ski out again today , did another 3 or so hours, lots of WOT passes again..
    and again when i removed the bung plugs i noticed a little coolant on the thread of the bung plug and a little coolant (about 1 teaspoon of coolant on each bung plugs)

    again i checked coolant level and it had dropped (about 1 inch in the coolant bottle)
    Could this be a head gasket? i dont have any loss of power, no warning lights, error codes or beeps.

    rpm = 8100 - 8120 , i m running a les cooke a+ wheel (11.0 psi) solas 14/19 with standard ecu, air, exhaust..
    temp guage was from 57 to 60, - is that normal,

    If head gasket, would bung plugs show drops/signs of coolant ?
    what are other possible causes of coolant leak?
    how often does coolant need to be added in normal circumstance?
    What test/diagnosis can i do to try and help me diagnose coolant drop??

    btw - what sort of coolant do i need ? havent needed to buy coolant for any of my ski s before

    coolant in the hull is more likely a hose leak than a head gasket. The head gasket can cause coolant in the oil, coolant in the exhaust (white, sweet smelling smoke) or over pressurize the tank and cause it to overflow.

    Check all your hoses for leaks first

    how long will the white smoke be visible for, i always fog after use, so when i first start ski its hard to tell...
    does the white smoke appear only when i first start ski or is it when ever motors running, is there any tests i can do like when i m flushing,

    Check the basic simple stuff first like said hose leak etc. Dont jump from the ship before you def find out it is sinking! LOL Ride it awhile with the seat off in calm water and check for any leaks also see if your coolant bottle over flow tude may show signs of being wet showing that coolant is being pushed out then report back!

    It depends. Sometimes it will happen at start up because coolant has had time to collect in the cylinders. Sometimes it will only happen when the engine is running due to pump circulation.

    I would check it hot on the hose or riding with the seat off personally.

    Your problem could be a headgasket, but you have to check all the basics first.
    Pressure test the cooling system and check for leaks, and maybe go for a ride with the seat off.

    If you go for a few WOT passes with the coolant overflow routed into a bottle, and then you find coolant in the bottle, this is a sure sign your HG is toast.

    Very rarely have I heard of a HG blowing out in any other way. It's always between the combustion chamber and coolant galleries.
