    4tec ECU options

Recently bought a 03 GTX supercharged with busted Engine and ecu.
Owner had a 155 engine laying around so i bought the ski with both engines for cheap.

Plan on running without supercharger for a while. Then rebuild the engine with 215 pistons and slap on the supercharger there after. will a supercharged ecu work with the 155 engine?

    Anyone have an 04 - 05 rxp/rxt ecu available?

First things first, You cannot just 'slap' on a charger to a 155 engine as things just don't work that way..... They use a 17 tooth gear versus a 16 tooth for the RXP/T's. you will need forged pistons, different cam, flywheel, injectors and a proper ecu.

The ECU will not work. The maps are different from the NA to the SC platform. It might turn over, but that's about it. It might not even do that.....

As I wrote above I plan on rebuilding the 155 with 215 pistons. I have all the oem parts of the 185hp engine. I'll swap the intake manifold, cam and injectors. I don't see why it won't work.

flywheel doesn't have any SC teeth at all...Not 17 vs 16...Its a single row not a double...
    Cam should be fine....
Not sure what the 155 injectors are, but I do know for a fact that I have personally ran a 155hp ski on a 215hp ECU (only let it idle) because a customer brought me a ski with out a key...(so I ran my extra 215 ecu with the key on the 155)

You will NOT need to go with 215 pistons. That will be a lot of time and effort wasted. The cast pistons will hold up. I have been running my 185 HP 2006 GTX for over two years with an X Charger (with upgraded wheel) at 8100 RPM and no issues. It runs 70 + on a good day.

are you running an intercooler? external or internal? and I thought the 185 and the 215 had the same pistons? I could be wrong though.

185hp pistons are cast low compress pistons. 155hp pistons are cast high compress pistons!

Cast high compression should be fine as long as you watch out for detonation....

Will I be able to run the 155 engine without supercharger on a 215 ecu given I use the 185 sensors.????
