Oil Pump Control Arm Nut Torque 1995 SLT 750

When removing the carburetors I didn't realize that the oil pump control arm can easily be disconnected where it attaches to the carburetors. Instead I undid the nut on the oil pump and removed the whole arm assembly with the spring.

When I reattached it I used a really small screwdriver through the hole in the arm to keep it from turning then I tightened it down pretty tight against the lock washer. Also used loctite on the nut. Just wanted to make sure this was ok and that it wouldn't be over torqued. It came off pretty easily but figured it was pretty important so it should be secure. Thanks.

5 to 7 ft-lbs would be pretty close. As long as it is tightened down and loctited, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure it is connected to the carb linkage properly. If it comes unhooked, the pump arm swings to full oil as a default.

Ok, thanks. Yeah I made sure I looked at several pics before reinstalling it. It's nice and tight, probably more than the torque you mentioned. I was a little concerned I might have overtightened it.
