white stain on outside of hull

Whats going on fellas. Being that someone on here already has the answer im going to ask. Ive searched and found some things but there just not working for me.

I have this white film/stain on the outside bottom of the hull and want to know how to take it off. Ive used several different options including toilet bowl cleaner, CLR, and others.

What are you guys using to take this stuff off.

Ill post a picture of it later when I get home.

It is the hull oxidizing if it is what i think it is. You will need to buff or cut it out and polish it back out. If you will take the time to wipe it down each time after you pull it out of the water you will not have this issue. I have done this since 06 and have no issues with it.

I forgot to mention I just purchased the ski and the previous owner didnt give a rats behind about cleaning it. I want to clean this up asap because I completely changed the look of my ski and Im getting ready to put the decals on next after cleaning this crap off. Any advice on what to use specifically?

Exactly what I said above... It is the gelcoat oxidizing. You need to use a power buffer and a good cutting/rubbing 3m Compound. You have to put a little elbow grease into it. It takes a little work to get it out. That is where the good cutting/rubbing comes into play. Good luck. As also previously said, wipe the ski down after you pull it out of the water each time and you will not have that issue. Mine is an 06 and looks new. I often get hassled when I go on big rides with a group and I take the time to do this. However, I take care of my stuff.... What can I say!!!

Remember, you must use something that is going to CUT into the Gelcoat.... You cannot simply use a polishing or buffing compound. You need something with a fine grain to it. Make sense?
