2001 GP1200R -$2999 Good to go - Cleveland, Ohio
Selling to buy my buddies 2007 GPR for an insane deal so I need to sell my beloved ski. Sorry if the ad is dumbed down, I copied my Craigslist posting.
Yamaha GP1200R - Priced to move!
2001 Yamaha GP1200R - Ready to rip! I need this gone to buy a new ski that a friend is selling me. I love this ski very much and I'd love to see it go to someone who wants to ride the heck out of it! Or even ride with us the rest of this season and the following years! The ski is on a nice Karavan trailer in Wickliffe and ready to test ride any time for a serious buyer! The ski is clean for a 2001. There's nothing un-natural for a 2001 ski to have. Solid compression across the board, wear ring clearance is in great spec and it pulls like it's better than fresh out of the dealer.
I'm going to try and remember everything off the top of my head that I have done to it:
Reliability mods that must be done to ANY Yamaha GPR to fix the possibility of failure on the water:
Removed cat and replaced with R&D Racing D Plate & Temp sensor ($120)
Wave Eater Clips and Connectors for the Power Valves ($100)
Removed Oil Pump properly and replaced with an R&D Block off Plate ($40 + I have old pump)
Fuel Flapper Removed and installed clunks ($100) (door was warped)
Installed Primer system for one crank starts. This makes the ski start faster than ANY ski out there. Two pumps and vrooooom. A must for any ski in my opinion. ($40)
Rebuilt carbs by a professional Yamaha mechanic using OEM Mikuni carb kits and set the pop off pressure properly in August on 2010.
Brand new power valve actuator motor installed this month. ($too much$)
R&D 1200 intake grate put on this year (stock intake grate was dangerous and needed to be replaced)
R&D Extended Nozzle for better handling
Stepped Factory Sponsons
Pump Seal done to reduce cavitation and increase holeshot.
Comes with a factory cover!
The gauges have gone blank (this is common for GPR's that run in the lake) Not a big deal since the only functional part on them was the gas tank level. Which is easy to visually check.
Foot wells need new turf. My water shoes that I started wearing in August pulled up the factory turf. Hydoturf is cheap and easy to install. If its a big deal I can do this for you for cheap.
Bottom line, this ski is good to go. You're welcome to come test ride if you have cash in hand. The title is in my possession for both trailer and ski. If you're looking for a fast reliable ski, look no further. This ski was not abused, I never beached it hard. Just pulled the nose up to keep it from floating when I didn't remember my anchor and I've taken GREAT care of it. I have no doubt you'd love this ski.
I'm selling the ski for $2999.99 for just the ski, $3300 with a Karavan trailer or $3500 with a near new double trailer. Please contact me with ANY questions. I need this gone to buy the new one!

Let's say 135. Gauges died a few weeks ago after a valiant attempt to save them.
