    gpr sponsoons on a 97-99 gp1200

Has anyone ever tried mounting a stock set of gp1200r sponsoons on a 97-99gp1200? i ask because my 98 gp1200 sponsoons aren so flimsy and cracked all over and the adjustable feature is damaged on the 1 side. So i took my gpr sponsoons and mounted them in the first to holes on the 98, i stepped them, (they fit perfectly in the holes by the way) andground off the old adjustable blocks for the old ones. i will test them out and let you know how it goes.

    Cool ?

    kenlepack....

You very well might be the first person to try this..??

    Seems like a neat idea..

I do remember my original GP sponsons being pretty easily damaged..
Also they were completely over engineered when it came to the adjustment of them..

A minor issue i can see with what you have done is...
If they are only mounted at two points.?
There is a possibility they could pull away from the hull on a hard turn/spin out. (which is pretty much all turns)

Pictures are always, always a good idea on here..
    Post up a few..

ok so went out with the setup and it is very loose. great in a straight line. but cornering you really have to lean into it. so stick with stockers i think. i will tweak and play with them and see what i can do.
