Intercooler Water Plumbing Question (Tubing Length, Fittings, etc.)

I have to plumb my new center mounted intercooler on my '04 RXP this weekend. I'm having a little trouble finding a location to mount the strainer on the old body style with a cowl in a place where it can be easily inspected/cleaned without taking the cowl off every time. I have decided to put it just under the glovebox to get to it easily. The only negative I see is that it is a much longer hose run than usual.

I have done a little reading here and heard people say that they overheated exhausts/engine due to fittings (90's, etc.). Is that a real issue or not? Any issues with longer runs?

I put mine directly over the VTS. works well for me. The seat has to come off only. no cowl removal necessary.
