I run my powerfilter with the pre-filter at all times. Julio, where did yo get this unmber from? Is it speculation or based on actual testing? The reason I ask is because I did back to back testing on two seperate occasions to see if the prefilter was scrubbing rpms. My results found that the prefilter does not take away any speed or rpms whatsoever.

If you want to gain rpms, find a way to get more air into the engine compartment.

I saw a gain of like 80-85 rpm without the pre-filter. same rang true with the pre-filter used with the rear intake on my old RXP. Gained 100 or so when I took it off. But water ingestion was huge with the rear air and no screen.

dont think water will be a problem with the yamaha's filter sits far forward and up high going to test the theory when the weather warm's up to see if it does rob any rpm. only thing with the prefilter is it may block up with dust after time never ran them on any of my two smokers.

removed the divider in the front storage area to get a good look at the filter on my ski. After starting the ski and reving it to just 3800rpm i could see the prefilter sucking in telling me that there is some restriction there so i have removed it for now. will do a back to back test with a pet tach to see if there is anything in it.
