    Cracked oil dip stick tube

Just a warning to all fz owners that may have left out the top bolt on the dip stick tube
i droped the bolt into the hull when refiting the tube to the manifold after fitting the manifold upgrade
    so didn't put it in
i found it a ride or two later but put it asside ready to do later, later became later and what do you know but it's still not done
found the dip stick tube was loose the other day so investigated and found
one side of the flange area had had broken off , leaving the dipstick floping around loose
there is a hole for a bolt on the other side but a bolt has never been fitted there
at least it did make it easy to fix as i just had to bolt it to the other side

Good info! Same happened to me and I was wondering how I was going to fix it, thinking about using some welding paste or anything like it.

Could you post a picture of how your bolted yours?

    Thanks

Yep. Been there, done that also. I don't know if they changed it since 2009 but it was only bolted on one side of the flange.
Discovered it by finding a fine mist of oil all around the right side of the engine bay.

mine is a 2010 and only had the one bolt at the botom, although there was a place for two
to late for picks but i put a bigger 0 ring and just bolted the other side down as well as bolting the top back on
