    1996 slx780 fuel pump

I picked up a slx780 that had no spark I just got thru replacing the stator and pickup.
    I rebuilt the carbs.
The motor will start right up but when I give the engine throttle it doesn't respond. I see the carb linkage moving. I removed the waterbox and I have gas dripping out the exhaust.
The seats on the carbs are back to where they were when I took them out. About one turn off the bottom.
    Is the fuel pump bad?

    1996 polaris slx780

My slx780 has gas coming out the exhaust. I removed the muffler and gas is dripping out.
I rebuilt the three carbs and set the needles back to where they were.
The slx780 starts up and runs but does not respond to the throttle.
This is a pwc that I picked up that has been sitting.

What do you mean doesn't respond?

Open the throttle and the RPM remains the same?

    Gas dripping out the exhaust?

Are you sure it's not water?

If you have raw fuel coming out the exhaust, you have a major issue.... Highly doubt it's the fuel pump.

When you say "seats", I assume you mean the carb adjustment screws?

Gas is dripping out of the exhaust
The engine will start right but if I open up the carberators the engine still runs at the same speed. The rpms may change a little but the rpms never jumps up with the throttle
The carberators are not closing completely when I let go of the throttle. I removed the carbs and they seem to be working correctly. Possible problem with the oil pump linkage???
When the carbs are closed and engine is shutoff gas looks to be still dripping into the carbs Needle seats?
I have the carbs and intake both off now. The reeds seem to be good. I did notice that one plastic finger doesn't seem to be a tight fit on the base like the others. I push on with my finger and it seems to move slightly before the seal is made.

How many RPM are you getting?

Fuel dripping when shut off most likely is bad needle and seat seal.
