    Pro K filters

Just got some Pro k flame arrestors and outers to fit an xp 951.

Question is - do the outers affect airflow and jetting ?

The flame arrestors look like they have next to no resistance to airflow but with the outers in place i it looks like the airflow would be reduced

Yes but very minimal loss. As far as jetting. If your letting more air in and keeping the same amount of fuel that equals a lean condition. I would recomend that you rejet. Follow Ben's sticky at the top.

...that depends entirely upon your engine build/tune/mods...

wait for surfnturf to enter the room....

he did my jetting and screws on my 99 XPL after ProK's and Outerwears were installed and it was spot on

Yeah i was going to follow Bens mods as the feedback seems great. Just wasn't sure if Bens jetting suggestion was for pro k flame arrestors with or without outers.

Suppose if outers reduce airflow and Ben was jetting for more airflow them my ski might run a wee bit rich. No worries there. Far better than lean

This doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't you need less fuel if you have more air. Doesn't typically more air = less fuel needed. Or less air = more fuel. I think this is the car for fuel injected cars anyways.

This is like air/fuel 101. LOL!

I ran the motor for the first time this week and as i revved the engine i could see the outers sucking to the filters. Throttle off and they would bounce back.

So that would suggest they might reduce airflow comaped to just having pro k filters.

I've taken them off for the first few runs - keen to see the effects of filters and jetting.

I'll probably put them back on for the waves and keep them on if i don't notice a performance reduction.

i've run proks with and without outers and honestly I can't tell any dam difference at all.
IMO, if you have a 951 I suggest outers, if you get some water in that engine and it goes poof... new engine, all for the "suggestion" of reduced airflow.
I'd rather see you error on the side of caution.
