Heavy steering on 1100 STX DI

Recently got this ski running and have taken it to lake a couple of times now. Everyone who has ridden it has indicated the steering is extremely heavy. The problem only appears to be when the ski is under power. When it isnt running or just idling along the steering is just fine, it is only when it gets under heavy power that the steering becomes a problem. I cant find any problems in steering linkage or cable. I have never been on another STX so dont know if this is normal for them or not. Anyone else noticed heavy steering on the STX models?
