    Unhappy Im sure my Jeski hates me... :( NO SPARK???!!

    Dear anybody that has a clue what is going on with my Jetski,

    I have a 2000 Polaris Genesis 1200 - and i love it - BUT...

    Over the summer i have had endless problems getting it to work...

    First, didnt run smooth, then eventually got it running (detatched exhaust).
    Took out for a run - spot on!

    One week later - after not touching it - it didnt show any signs of life !!!

    Installed a fuel primer as i suspected a fuel pressure problem.
    Didnt get a chance to try it and went back to it a few days later...

    CEASED!! - Eventually unceased it (surface rust on the bores) and now get a chance to try to run it...
    I can smell fuel - so i guess that aspect is ok, but now - With 3 new spark plugs (all gaped properly) and now NO SPARK!!!

    I would really appreciate any help with this as i have had it with this thing!! Im outta ideas?!

    Could be alot of things,you need to do some checking and then you'll be able to get closer to finding the problem and ask questions we can help wiith. Time for some reading.

    Sounds like you've worked your battery to death. A fresh battery will most likely get your sparks back.

    Check your grounds. How did It get rust in the bores. I leave skis for up to 9 months during the winter and never had that problem.

    Im pretty sure it was because i flushed the engine with fresh water after testing it in the sea and there is a breech on one of the rubber o-rings that seperate the bores with the cooling gallery...

    I will check the voltage output and get back to you, thanks...

    Hey,

    Just checked and im getting fuel in all cylinders AND a spark - but still no firing?!?
    What is going on?

    The only thing i can think of is mis-timing?

    Its like its defiying the laws of physics?

    Any ideas please?

    Were you getting spark with the plugs out? If your battery is weak you will see spark with the plugs out, but when you put them back in the battery will have too much load on it and not provide enough voltage to fire the plugs. Sure sounds like a weak battery to me

    Gotta have at least 10.8 volts while cranking to have fire .The water came from the water hose you hooked up,water cannot be turned on until engine is started and water must be turned off before stopping engine,if the orings were leaking water in cylinders you would have no compression as it is also the head gasket!!!!If you have spark and fuel and compression it will start ,your battery is weak !Try it with new batt .
