    SeaDoo GTR 215 impressions

I have a few friends that are interested in the GTR 215. What do those of you that have driven it think?

It is a great 3 seater. It is the GTI platform with a 215 in it. It is nimble, yet responsive. Great acceleration but can be improved with an 83mm nozzle for 35.00. It handles better than any other 3 seater I have driven. The heads up display is neat.... Lots of options there. You can really have fun on it. Spin it around fairly easy if you know how. It turns really well. It is a light 3 seater and overall a great boat. I would recommend it for people looking for a 3 seater. An ecu reflash would wake that bad boy up even more. The handling is great to. Turns sharply and edges really well... It doesn't get too flemsy in the rear end and it doesn't try and come around on you too much. However, you can spin it on a dime and head the other direction without cavitation or lag. Overall I give it an 9 out of 10. It is everything you need and more. I liked it...

He had a new GTI hull trying to make a drag boat and was a slug.

"Certainly the hull is familiar. It’s the same one that graced the previous generation GTI, and one of the few elements retained in last-year’s full-scale makeover. Last year’s improvements, however, have made this looser-feeling ride even more attractive. While the hull sports the same shallower, 16-degree deadrise, it’s longer in the bow area to match the upper deck and includes spray-reducing chines. Some added length at the stern also increases buoyancy."

I have ridden the new GTI in rough stuff as well as flat. It should not be compared to the older GTI hull. It is much better. In fact, it is better than my 2009 GTX! IMO:

    - dry ride
    - spins on a dime, omg!
    - rides well on a "straight" line - similar to my 2009 GTX

Very versatile ride. Unfortunately, I rode the GTX iS LTD right after the GTI... The new S3 hull is even greater.

how does it compare with rxtx 2009, (handling, not power) despite sponsors and a few handling mods. the 2009 rxtx still dont turn well, i want an all rounder - wave jumper, something i can spin like a rxp ( the new 2012 looks quite big and wonder if it rides "heavy" like the rxtx 260)

And a general reflash would work well too.
