    Motec Fitted 300X

for those that havent been in my circle i had given my ski to Motec to develop test and manufacture there interfacing loom and fuel mapping for the 300x, so far all tests have proven to be very positive. we have only had limited time on the water 2hrs approx due to lambda sensors fouling. the fuel map used i believe come from the 260 with an increase in parameters of approx 30% due to the injectors being calculated out to be that bit larger. that was all fine until after a first down load log and dicovering the 300 does infact produce the advertised 17psi. pete and matt went to work on the map adding the much needed changes. due to the lambda issues pete could only tune via knock slowly adding timing after each download, its a slow processs from memory i think we settled on 8300rpm at WOT heres the scoop.

Stock 67.11mph, Delimiter 72.08mph, Motec 74.07mph full of fuel. my previous best was 74.5mph, the motec was tuned very loosely with still alot of fine tuning to be had so there are definatly some big gains to be had, injectors are at their peak, more to come think im sold

pete still has my ski and it will be a work in progress sorting the lambda/water fouling issues out then fine tuning the map.

with the motec fitted all dash features still operate, however at this time the eco mode, cruise control and no wake no longer function, pete may be able to get the cruise sorted and same as other motec boats can offer a dual map if need be via there own switching circuit.
personally i think there is most definatly more top end speed to be had and the ski definatly had more punch all through the rev range. the benefits gained verses cost i guess thats up to the individual, if you are a racer you have the ability to tune for all conditions for a rec rider i guess you get to have a fast ski with all the bells and whistles
i am no expert in this field so hopefuly pete can answer all your questions in the motec section when he has it all sorted.

great job and i also noticed that my ski when i put in the autometer liquid filled gauge and the scom it did in fact show 17 pounds

nothing personal or anything nicjak, but my ski ran 75.2 with out a $3500 motec....my question is is it really worth 3-3.5 grand on the motec?

+1 I'm at 74 now stock with the delimiter, my opinion is these aftermarket ECUs are more about tuning for throttle response and/or higher boost, perhaps as high as 19 psi with some race gas

What nikjak is saying is that the tune is in it's infancy.

Once the setup is debugged hold on brothers!

    (Mike H, I like it!!)

I think its a safe bet especially when going to different power levels or adders..with a motec you can tune to your liking and flexibility is king..
