PET2100 wiring and stock rev limiter

I have noticed that if I wire the PET to the front cylinder that it will sometimes drop from 7800 back to 6500 at full throttle. I believe this is because with my 14/18 prop I am hitting the rev limiter which causes cylinder one to drop out. If I move the wire to cylinder three the RPMs stay at 7800.

Has anyone else seen this? If I am correct then this is a great way to tune your pump and detect if you are hitting the limiter.

With the Mode button, are you certain you've selected the "P :41" setting?

Yes the mode is set correctly. The tach works fine. It's just that cylinder one drops out at the rev limit.
