    Possible SC Issue

Had the RXT out today for about 15 minutes reaching RPM of 7860-7920 (normal for me here in Florida). Did some tight turns and then noticed that the RPMs were topping out at 7200-7340.

Intake Grate is clear and the OPAS Paddles are locked up with a Riva Kit. I can hear the SC spinning and it sounds okay, however, it is very close to 100 hours and needs a rebuild. I'll probably pull it tomorrow, but at 7200 RPM, could it have already gone? Or is it probably something else?

It is possible that it has already gone. Let's hope not though... The ole girl has done you well. My first instinct would be to say that it is slipping. To ease your mind, remove the intake hose off and see if you can spin the wheel. If you cannot, I am betting it is the slip. If you can, bad news.... Good luck Kevin.... Let us know what you find this evening....

Intake hose off, finger tips slightly burnt, but the wheel didn't spin at all from finger pressure. Phew!

I'll pull the charger tomorrow and send it out for a rebuild. Thanks for the quick response!

No worries, looks to me it is just a slip issue. Glad to hear....

I agree with Jim. I have seen a fouled plug (even if they appear good) cause a low RPM problem. Particularly if the ski has set up for some time.

If there was a supercharger clutch problem the RPM's would have dropped into the low 6000 range.

If your spark plugs have not been changed for some time then I'm betting a fresh set solves your issue

Bad plugs will have you chasing your tail for weeks.
