    Cheaper BOV kit alternatives?

I am looking to add a BOV to my SHO, and I am looking to come up with something cheaper than the $300-$400 BOV kits available that are made to fit.

Is there any reason I cant cut the stock hose and add in a $25 T pipe and a $50 BOV from Frozen Boost? Has anyone done this with successful results? Would this hold up under stock boost levels?

I could modify the T pipe a bit to fit the bend in the stock hose.

No problems with running that T pipe. But may want to opt for a better blow off like hks or you might find urself chasing a boost leak later.

or get a real bov meant for a supercharger and not a bov designed for a turbo like the hks valve was made for.
vortech has a nice big valve, the greddy type r, and tial has their 50mm bov.

a supercharger bov is no different to a turbo bov, just different designs, a bov is a bov. the ony difference you have is single piston and twin piston (one is for vacum operated sysems and the other is for pos pressure operated systems

Maybe I am misunderstanding these Riva and R&D BOV kits available in the store. I was under the assumption they use a cheaper BOV and most of the cost is in the custom outlet hose and typical marine dealer markup.

This $370 kit from Riva seems to use a quality BOV.

This one is $100 cheaper from R&D does not state what BOV it uses.

If most of the cost comes from using a quality BOV, It doesn't make much sense building my own setup.

they both uses the same bov i think but if you ever plan on upgrading your innercooler dont waste your money buying the bov an hose because you wont use that hose when u upgrade so id say do it the way you were thinking of doing it (my opinion)

No plans on upgrading. This ski is on a budget. I am doing simple Intake, exhuast, grate, plate mods.

I have too many other toys to go big with this ski!

the froozen boost set up does work fine. my wifes ski is stock and on a budget with this bov.
you will have to buy 2 90 deg elbow hose's from there also.
it is a very tight fit so cut slowly
