Fx 140. Won't start or click

Tried to even touch the hot lead to the starter and no click or noise.at first I thought it was a relay. How do you get to this starter?

I assume there is nothing on the dash? Just completely dead? Like the battery was disconnected?
I had this happen on my 2004 FXHO twice. I never found the cause but disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it along with playing with the remote finally woke it up.

You guessed right. No dash no nothin!

We have disconnected the battery a number of times and still nothin.

I will keep trying. Do you know where the starter is? Even a direct lead to the positive end on the starter will not turn it over. I am also trying to trace the negative end of the battery cable to see if thats connected. Its also buried under the engine somewhere.

in rear electrical box behind the engine there is a small square cover that the battery lead goes into and the starter lead comes out of. they are side by side lower right hand corner of electrical box . take something conductive and try to jump across the 2 terminals and see if the starter rotates over.

if you are looking for the starter it is under the exhaust manifold on the right hand side of the ski. can't get to it without taking the exhaust off.

check your fuses in the electrical box. probably one blown.

Tried the hotwire and got no response.
Going to continue to check the kill button.
Not sure what you are saying when you ask about the remote.
