i just shipped my bare block and it weight 50-55lbs, i think it was 52lb to be exact and cost $50-60 to ship (cost varies from online to instore). If your shipping one with pistons/rods/and crank I bet its going to be closer to 80lbs. UPS/FedEx will ship anything under 150lbs. But for overseas, your best bet would be to make a wooden frame and secure it inside. Then use plywood for the exterior sides/top/bottom.

If you send a wooden box to Australia make sure it is in the wood that is stamped for import to Australia they are very picky about the wood that goes in there. If you don'ty it could cost upwards of 500 in penalties.

Call Greg at SkiForce in Preston, he has containers leaving LA weekly and might have one in Savanah on the east coast

Thats a good idea any time you can piggyback onto someone elses container you can make out. You should be able to get the wood at a lumber yard. Or Go to lowes or home depot and get a plastic tub that it will fit in and then pack padding around it.

Best way to crate things up to ship overseas without wood it to actually use pvc so u dont run into the wood issue, i used pvy fencing pieces to make a crate for a trans i sent
