    Question Exhaust Filter MIA

    Hi,

During WOT @ 7650 RPM+, ski started to drop RPM suddenly around 6500 and bump again to 7400... and kept doing that if i tried to WOT. ( 30 hours )

Before having that issue, my ski was making a different tone when starting up, something like a boxer engine.
I just had to give some throttle and sound was back to normal.
Other than that I could WOT no problem ( 25 hours ).

Now, whenever I try to start the ski on the water, i have to crank 2-3 times and it will start.
Out of the water I have no problem, 1st try it will start up.

I decided to check my exhaust filter and found out it was gone! (30 hours)
Now I think my exhaust filter is stuck somewhere in the waterbox, I can't find it anywhere else.

    What a bother lol.

No I didn't since it was a very small portion that was bent.
I guess even the small bent mean replace it?

I know someone on the forum had similar issue, you can see it didn't even hold on the side wall.

Yeah, I tough it will just hold fine like the one you can find in some Mercruiser engine.
I guess I was wrong, now problem is... not sure if it is stuck in the WB or not lol

I don't mind replacing the filter, but damn! I sure hope it is not stuck in the WB lol.

I'm going to cut the remaining filter and run it like that until I get a brand new filter.
    That part ain't cheap ~ $150

Ps: MGM, do you have a schematic for the inside of the WB?

I would not run 300X w/o the filter - water in engine, corrosion, hard starting, stuck plugs in the head, etc. Too many reasons to count.

I don't have a cut-out view of the wb. Why do you need it? Are you trying to find your MIA filter core there?

I am sure you should be able to hear something in there if you shook the WB. Just cut it open as the guys that modified their WB and weld it back up after removing the filter.
