You have probably overfilled the oil. These are dry sump systems, you will only get a correct oil level reading when motor is hot. Even then, midway between marks is the highest I would let the level get to. If the ski had been sitting for a while then it is possible for the oil to not register on the stick at all.......I have seen this on my FXHO. Always check the level after the last ride, when oil is hot, then you know the level is correct, even if you take a reading when cold & see no oil on the stick. May sound strange, but it is just the way these dry sump motors are.
Your air filter will probably be fouled now, so you need to check that also.

hey Dave let me get something str8 so you mean that when the ski has been sitting for a while when you measure the oil they might not be any oil on the stick.cause that was my problem when i checked the stick there was no oil at all i didnt even see a tiny bit so then i bought some oil and filled it to what i thought was proper level. so then i went to the ramp and placed the trailer in the water i didnt take the ski of the trailer i turned it on and left it running at first it was light white smoke and then after a while it got like a really heavy white like a cloud or a car burn out. so hopefully this gives up a better idea of whats happening

The best way to take an oil reading on these is directly after a ride when oil is hot.........once motor is switched off, & oil starts cooling, then drain back from the oil tank to the block can occur. This does not always happen......it does not seem to be an exact science with these dry sumps!
So if your ski's oil level was correct ( even though it did not registar on the stick when cold) & you added oil up to the top mark, then it will be way overfilled.........the white smoke is the oil burning off. You need to get the excess oil out & get the level correct. Also as said before, your air filter will probably be fouled so you will need to check this.

Not sure about the VX, but holding down on the hour/volt button for 8 seconds on the FZ/SHO displays one code.
