    outside air package

    Jerry--
Strange you would ask. Sunday it was 104 degrees here in south Texas.
I rode around for about a half hour--it would turn 8100 plus all day.
Absolutly no heat fade whatsoever. This was with an almost full tank of gas and my 240 lbs. My other mods are--opas block offs, small venturi,
2 degree wedge, PPG power exhaust, PPG solas Frazer twecked prop,
158 degree thromo, holes filled in ride plate, PPG blow off valve---73.6 mph at 8100 rpm---on HOT days. This homemade outside air package is the best mod I have made IMO. I have no idea what the pitch is on the prop. Had it at PPG in Florida in January and Frazer rode it four times--tweaking the prop each time. The base of my outside air package is the Riva power air pipe. I just added to it with smooth bore 3" ID hose to just under the small storage compartment-used an old weed blower 90 degree angle 3'' ID pipe and the K & N air filter which comes with the Riva package with the filter sticking up almost five inches above the compartment opening with the lid held down with a one quarter inch bunge cord.

Does the lid bounce around ? Does water not get into it when you sub, jump or do 180? I bet you could make a plastic scoop to put in place of the lid and make it like a ram air device

Awsome Ray! It's amazing how much getting cold air into the engine helps. Heat fade is non existant with these cold air setups

The lid does not bounce--no- i dont do 180s- I am 71 years old and dont want to fall off...my lake is always very smooth---no splash has even come near entering the set up. Works wonders.

this is my latest mod to be able to keep my storage bucket . I got tired of having a small soft cooler bouncing around in that area.
