alternator charging, but battery getting de-charged over night msx 150

ok, hopefully this will be a simple fix. just put my weber engine back in my msx 150. its starts, and charges fine (13.7v @ 1500rpm)

but when i leave the ski over night the battery almost totaly drains.

i guess im getting an electrical drain, but anyone have an idea where to look, or what to check?

i know the rectifier have been known to be tempermental, but surely the rectifier is working if im getting the correct charge voltage?

(battery is a year old but kept charged and barely used its 18ah - i know i should use a 19ah really but its a new battery and was fine few months that i used it this time last year.)

    thanks

If you have any questions about the battery-pull it out overnight-than recheck.

As far as testing for a draw, you will need an Amp meter attached in-line with the battery cable-I'm guessing it needs to be less than 0.15- 0.2 amps ( that's a general spec for cars)
If it's higher, unplug stuff till it goes away.

this sounds spot on, and mirrors what some one else just told me.

just a thought.... could it be the system interface module not powering down correctly? this is what powers down the ecu.

ill do your tests. the battery is on charge, once charged, ill leave it and check tomorrow.

another thought is it might be the system interface module not powering down? if its not it would keep the ecu "on" and the current drawn from that would do it.
the module is "clicking" off, but it still may not be shutting down.

    cheers

Do the ammeter in line check, first thing I would disconnect would be the regulator, It won't be the stator but if the regulator is crook it can discharge through there.Or maybe your battery is just no good

thanks for your input Kosh. ill do the checks.

one thing i did notice is my battery isnt charging very quickly, by that i mean i use a motorbike charger that cuts out when battery is full, but it now wont cut out, just seems to keep on charging (terminals disconected to the loom)

    cheers

my battery has eaten itself, so i think this is the cause. i wouldnt even try and charge. i think its fried inside.
