Junk it or fix it?
This summer I had a Kawasaki zxi 1100 (year 2000) check out by a dealership before I purchased it.
Maybe 10 hours after buying it, a hole burned in the front piston.
I had the top end rebuilt. During the break in period it was obvious the front cylinder was running much hotter than the other two and the front plug was white as opposed to brown for the other two.
I had the cards rebuilt.
For the first three hours all plugs were brown and it was running good. In the next hour the front piston ceased and front plug was white.
Was the problem with the engine or with the carbs I do not know.
I talked to a second Kawasaki dealership and they said they could not really test the carbs without a working engine.
I would buy a rebuilt engine if I could verify the carbs were good. Does anybody have a suggestion?

That's a bummer, especially after having the dealer check it out. Of course, there are no guarantees, especially with used 'Skis, that something won't go wrong. Could be carbs, could be an air leak on the intake side, front seal leaking, etc.
Who did the carbs? If it was the dealer, I'd certainly have a serious talk with them about the carbs and possible liability they may have.
