Filter placement on custom 4in intake?
I have everything to install my 4in intake but am having a hard time debating where the best place to mount the filter. Where my old Riva 3in would sit i would get water in it, i was looking to moving it somewhere in the gas tank area but im worried there because i dont have the front plastic tubing in case the ski flips so i have the triangle there open. the rear air intake is no good for me either becuase of the kind of riding we do. Where have you guys mounted it or recommend?

excess....am a little confused. are you saying the riva one used to get water in it?? Cause I've got my stuff downstairs for the 4 incher. Our water conditions are similar to yours down there and now you've got me a little worried...

my riva intake the original 3 in style had salt in it and eventually my intercooler and throttlebody so i wanted to mount my 4 in intake in a different area.
your custom install should be alright dont see what your worried about.

oh...i just don't want water to get in the intake either...i'm going from stock to custom, guess I'll just keep it atop the fuel tank..

Here is where I have mine. You can put an outerwears on it. I gps'ed with and without it and there was no difference.
(the storage bucket fits tight against it)

that looks good, but ive heard from more than one person to aim the filter down in the case that water does get in it doesnt fall right in, it made sense to me, im gonna get around to it today or tommorrow so anymore input is cool.
