deal or no deal 99 gp1200
What do you guys think? What would you pay? It has a crack in the rear from landing on a sand bar, but it has umi bars, a bored and ported jr. magoo's motor, hot rods crank, VF reeds, reed spacer, riva cdi, bla bal bla.
I'm going to look at it tomorrow. I just talked to the guy for about an hour. he's looking for around $2000. It is partially disassembled, but everything is there.
If the price is right, i may drop the motor in the raider
or fix it. . .
What do you guys think? What would you pay?

He's been trying to sell it for a long time. Ask him for pictures of the damage, I remember seeing it and the damage

Jeff, it would cost you more in gas to come get it!
Really all I'm interested in is the motor, but I figure that getting the whole ski would make a swap easier, and I could allways fix it.
Assuming that I'm going for top speed only, witch is the better platform? the raider or GP?

The raider is the faster, straightline ,smooth water hull, when compared to the GP. For overall handling the GP is the better hull. The Raider hull is probably 2-3 mph faster than the GP, but you know the Raider gets a little dangerous and has a mind of its own. It really is a toss up I guess, depending on what you want. My GP hull feels very stable at 67+.

But realy, is it a good deal?

Mike if the hull is fixable....you would recoupe some of your money, that is a lot of expensive parts on there, just think of the cost to buy that stuff outright, then sell your 1100 stuff,....... money made back !!!!! OH and top speed only , in flat water the raider is the fastest, NOW ,are you going to see flat water all the time? .most of the time? ,hardly ever???? that would also come into play..ME.I would get that dude...for those ones that pull up and say .OH I race those all the time...........

yep. That's what I was thinking. KBB has the value at 2500 in good shape, and stock. I figure there's enough aftermarket goodies to justify spending 2g's on it even if the hull is not fixable-although he says that it's only a $2-500 repair if done by a pro.
