What the hell is the crap in my engine bay???

Was eyeballing a future air intake installation and only just now noticed how much of this gunk is in my engine bay, especially towards the back of the motor. It's beige in color. There's a little bit up front as well.

Anyone ever see this stuff before? Anything to be concerned about???

All I see is salt water corrosion

You need to invest in some XPS spray!

Looks like salt water condensation/corrosion. I had that after a few hours riding in brackish and salt water. Soap and water would be sufficient to clean it with.

Thanks. I did have a leaky connection to the pump a while back that was misting water in the back left, but I didn't think it got up that far. I didn't notice all of it until I put a light down in there. I foresee a good cleaning in the future when that deck comes off for the air intake install.

I actually do spray down after a salt run. She gets washed, flushed and put into a garage with all of the compartments open and a dehumidifier running. I guess I need to pay closer attention to all the nooks and crannies. I'm glad it appears to be this and not the result of oil and water mixing.

    Thanks for the info

Leave the seat up/off and the hood raised with bins out to allow it to dry for a full 24hrs. The engine heat will condensate the water onto EVERYTHING.
