Do I repaint this hull or fix the trouble spots only? Update with repair estimate...
I'm going to get this damage repaired as well as having both footwells redone due to some pretty bad blistering/cracking of the finish.
I'm guessing that's gonna be a $800 or so job?
How much more would it be to refinish the entire hull by a shop?
I'm not attempting this myself so I'm not sure how much the average repair place would charge?
The machines only got 33 hours on it, so I don't feel too bad about the refinish.

I would repair the bad spots. if you are going to paint the whole ski anyway or the top side do something different that makes it stand out. there are some nice looking ski out there.
it only takes a little time to remove front cowling and rear bar and the bumper around the ski isnt too bad some screws and drill the rivets.
The more you do the cheaper the bill and if you pull those items you want have a tape line were the body shop was too lazy to pull them.

What would a shop charge to fix the two spots and blistering in the footwells?

I had a local shop take a look at it today. They said $500 for the nose damage and $1000 to repair the blistering in the footwells. Comes with a life time warranty but good grief that's a lot of cash! I only paid $2400 for the entire unit.

I'd tell that shop to go F themselves & find someone else. My painter isn't cheap & he quoted me $1500 to paint the whole sk(GPR)i. I had him touch up a few spots on another ski, & I think it only cost me a few hundred bucks. Not sure how bad your footwells are but the damage on my bow was bigger than what you have on yours.

Seems high to me too. The footwells just have cosmetic blistering from water sitting in there. He said that's very normal and will most likely come back even after they make the repair. He said it just happens over time. Time to shop around I guess.

Thats crazy. I see that was a $600-800 repair for EVERYTHING

Yeah, I was thinking $250 for the nose and $500 for the footwells.

Check your pms. I know I can help you at a reasonable cost....I know what I'm doing with SMC and GPRs and I don't live too far.
