SHO Cruiser 2008 Yamalube question
I know this is probably mentioned somewhere (but I can't find it), but I'd love your opinion on a Yamalube question I have.
Got a SHO Cruiser 2008 & have checked that it should have Yamalube 10w-40 4W oil. Have had some trouble actually finding any, but have been told that 10w-30 4W is pretty much the same thing & is in stock at a nearby dealer.
What's the difference between these, is it compatible with my ski & from my research , is the 4W the most important aspect of the whole product?
Would love some opinions of those in the know.
Appreciate it big time.

In my 2009 FZ service manual, it recommends 10w-40 OR 10w-30. The 4W is yamaha's oil for their sport boats/ waverunners.

As I assume/have heard that your FZ & my FX SHO have the same engine, I guess it would be safe to go with the 10w-30 as that is available here.
(Of course your engine is most likely modded beyond belief, mine is stock, but the oil would be same).
Really appreciate the input. Didn't want to risk anything.
Props to you mate.

Yes, the FZ and SHO have the same engine. I think 10w-30 will be fine. My ski is pretty stock believe it or not, just the typical air mods on the stock ECU and stock SC wheel.
