    GP1200R backfires at first start, is it normal?

    been wondering if its normal?

    Mine has never done this. I'm not 100% sure but maybe a Reed issue? Can't think what else might do this. I'm sure someone else will chime in. How many hours do u have on it? Have u ever rebuilt the carbs?

    It shouldn't be backfiring. do you know if it is in the exhaust or popping back through the carbs.

    Is this stock or modded.

    It shouldn't backfire. You might want to do a leak down test on that engine, did you rebuild it? I'm pretty sure a leak can cause backfiring, but you mentioned only when you start it......so does it settle after the first start or does it continue???

    backfires disappears after 3minutes...
