    98 ZXI Jet size questions

Ok. Search did not produce results I need to check what is the stock jet size.

    I have 185 and 35
The ski has spark arrestors (filter upgrade).

I want to make sure that when I am rebuilding the carbs I am taking into account before running the ski. Just want to make sure that it has been jetted right (or close).

I father bougt the ski used 2 months ago, said it ran OK but when he would corner it would stall and shut down to a idle and bogging throttle. It would break up and haul at WOT on the throttle. It would throw his 130lb butt off the ski.
    He gave it to me.
I can get it to idle (choppy) to move around and any thing in the mid will bogg, until I go full throttle and it wants to throw my 260lb butt off. Stands stright up.
    98 ZXI 1100
Mods where aleady on the ski when I got it.

I have the carbs apart now and do not see anything in the float/jet area for debrey.
diaphams are good, gaskets good, jets clean, seats good.

Should I dig into the pop off valves?

for starters, the cv carbs you have on that 98 are garbage. If you plan on keeping the ski, I would find a set of non cv carbs off a 96, instead of buying rebuild kits for the others. I will check the jet sizes this evening on a set of cv's that are outside in a 98 hull I have, and post up with the sizes.

your 98 should have the Kehin "CV" carbs stock.

stock jetting on your ski is 35 low jet 165 high

the CV carbs are very sensitive. i am guessing you are having troubles because of the aftermarket flame arrestors. these will change the pressure in the carb throat. IMO you are having a lean condition.

i would go back to stock jeting specs, and stock flame arrestor assy.

I just so happens that I picked up a 95 900 for parts.

Can I use this setup, because I did not modifiy the 1100 and do not have the stock parts.
    The 95 is all there.

I dont believe the 900 carbs have the accelerator pump found on the 1100's. At least my 96 900 doner ski did not. You can use the f/a setup (that is all the same) to get back to stock on your 1100 like what zig was suggesting.
