    1999 sltx no spark

    i have 1999 sltx with no spark it has the upgrade kit already but what testing procedures do i use, the original 1999service manual or i have a pvl 2004

    Use the specs from a 2000 or later manual.

    If you don't have a really good charge on the battery you won't get spark. Check that first, then try pulling all plugs and cranking to see if anything is restricting the motor from spinning fast (like a prop rubbing). If the battery voltage drops much below say 10 volts when cranking, or if the motor isn't spinning fast enough you won't get spark. I recently "stole" two genesis i's because they didn't have spark, all they needed was two new fully charged batteries, and to free up the motors from being sluggish. (pulled all plugs, sprayed WD-40 down each cyl., blip starter to rotate, repeat a few times untill it spins freely) Hopefully it'll be as easy for you too.

    You need at least 10.6 volts while cranking on a domestic motor.
