03 GTX supercharged pump questions
I have a cavitation issue when taking off full throttle from idle. I've read about the wear rings being the most common issue, but now also have read about the plastic pump housing on the '03 being an issue as well?
My question is would replacing the plastic wear ring with a stainless wear ring potentially fix both issues?
Also, is the 2004 GTX SC wear ring the same as the 2003 GTX SC since they are both 185hp skis?
Thanks in advance..

Just buy the 185 wear ring. If that fixes your cavitation, good. If not, get a metal pump. Holler at WFO (Rich)...I think he has one.
The SS is for the 215/255 skis and will not fit the 185.

Thanks for the reply, The reason I ask is I came across this when searching for SS wear rings. http://www.amazon.com/WSM-Jet-Pump-W.../dp/B001658N52 It says it will fit the '04-'06 GTX SC but not the '03 But the '04and '05 are also 185 skis correct?? which is why I'm confused. I've never heard about this brand and also can't find any info about people using them in forums, but for that price it sounds great!
If not it appears RIVA makes one http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1205. So is there no difference in the pump dimensions between the 185 skis? Is the difference just the material?
Thanks again for the help.

But it will only work with the aluminum pumps. It will not work with a plastic pump like Hockeydude has

On a side note, this ski is completely stock and I plan on keeping it that way other than a OPAS removal in the spring (more of a family ski). Is the flexing/deforming issues with the plastic pump housing only with modified skis? Is it anything I should even be concerned with if I'm keeping it stock?

nope get a aluminum pump it will save you some wear rings the plastic pump flexes and eats rings maybee 5-10 hours on a new wear ring.

But what about my original question about the SS wear ring. I understand they don't make one for the '03, but they do for the '04. And if I get an 04 pump I need to swap the wear ring and impeller over from the '03 assembly. Whats the difference?? Am I correct in assuming the outside diameter of the wear ring is the same between the years but the impeller diameter and inside diameter of the wear ring is different? I was thinking about getting a different impeller anyways. Can I get a '04 SS wear ring and an impeller?

they make the ss wear ring for the 03 there are only two different wear rings, the 155mm and the 159mm the plastic pump uses the 155mm. the rxt, rxp, ect use the 159mm wear ring.
