    Lube Pump/Bearings

I was looking at the manual and it states that "Lube jet pump bearings and seals" every 25 hours on the 300.

Where would I do this? is there a fitting?

The 300 is my first ski and not sure how complicated this would be, don't want to really mess with disasembly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You will need to remove the nozzle, pump, impeller ect... have a vice and some specific tools to do it.
Not hard to do it, just take some time and tools

Read the manual again, page-131 says:

That should be done at initial 20 hrs, and then every 50 hrs or every year whichever comes first.

    20 hrs -> 70 hrs -> 120 hrs -> 170 hrs and so on.

Pump bearings are sealed type and they can't really be lubed internally like you would do on trailer wheel bearings.
Check for water intrusion, corrosion, smoothness, etc. Then replace only if necessary.

If you are a hardcore rider, expect to replace bearings around 50-75 hours.
If you are a casual/rec rider, expect to replace around 100-125 hours.

So I would definetly consider myself a recreational rider. The ski currently has 31 hrs of light to moderate riding.

Should I even worry about the bearings at this point. Maybe just have my dealer do the inspection when winterizing next year?

    Thoughts?

I would have dealer inspect, repack with grease and apply medium strength loctite on the impeller & shaft threads. Make sure you take to a reputable place. If possible, remove the jet pump assembly from the ski and take it to the dealer instead of trailering the ski.

Good to know you can't really lube them.

If you have the Pump out, I would just replace the Pump Bearings anyway . . . there are cheap (compared to some other parts on the Ski). As far as "greasing" goes, that is just to take up the "air space" inside the pump area. Theory being should water somehow work its way into the apparatus, the "grease" will take up the space so water intrusion is minimal. I have not heard of a Double Bearing set up fail on any Ultra any year.

My point was really that the labor it will cost to do the inspection will cost more than a new set of Bearings. so if the Dealer is "in there" already why not just change the Bearings anyway? Honestly, at 30 hours to do an inspection . . . that does seem kind of soon to me. I would bet that your Bearings are fine at this juncture. JB

Yes, thank God for the second Bearing. If not for that second Bearing very likely it would have "lights out" for the engine . . .
