.......if you beach a ski you will get scratches......basically like running sand paper over the hull......

LOL,,,how can you blame the hull ?...you are the one riding it and telling it where to go...

really??? there is a reason they call it sand paper.... i have read some opinions on here about the new nano hulls, but those references were towards durability and quality. what you are saying will happen to any hull, reguardless of brand. IMO.

I have 154 hours on my VXS.

Never beached it. No scratches on the bottom of my hull and I pull it and off a lifting platform every time I use it.

The top deck is scratched up, however. The finish is cheap and it mars easily. Also, the hull does not polish up like a nice gel coated hull.

If the scratches are just in the finish, and the hull is undamaged, don't worry about it.

Very bad idea IMO. You significantly increase the chance of getting sand, rocks, shells, etc in your pump which easily destroy a prop or wear ring.

The problem with the Nano hull is that as soon as you put a scratch through the paint, you see the white-grey Nano material underneath. The result is that scratches stand out about 10X as much as on any other type of hull. Yamaha needs to dye that stuff black, and you wouldn't notice the scratches as much.
