    Not only the hard starting issue, the corroded/stuck/broken off spark plug is even a bigger issue. When that happens during plug change because you removed the oem filter and installed something like that, you know why.

    That R&D plate looks extremly similar to the Kawi OEM filter when the core blows out after 25 hours or so. Here is one:



    So why would you spend $70 when you can keep your old OEM filter w/o the core?

    Does the R&D company really have a R&D department?

    When Riva came out with this product they stated "FOR COMPETITION USE ONLY"
    This needs to be known by the rec rider that using this product in place of the exhaust filter can and probably will cause damage to your engine that will not be covered under warranty. The exhause filter that Kawasaki uses in the 300 has even been recommended to be installed in the 250/260 of previous years. Kawasaki has improved on their Ultra product since it's original release in 2007 and this exhaust filter in one of those improvements. This has helped all the issues that were caused by the vapor coming back into the head.

    All of you recreational riders out there reading this. Be aware of what you are getting into before replacing your exhaust filter with this product.

    its a performance part so its aimed at the racer not the rec rider, i have done the past 8hrs without the filter both with the motec fitted and the oem ecu and the ski starts like a dog, i have had to do it this way until we get the tune right because of the water fouling the lambda ;(

    Do you have any rusted spark plug without the filter?
    On my ski, my spark plug 1 was the only one getting rust.
