    Question 1200 E.f.i.

    Hey guys, I am "thinking" about converting a 2002 to EFI. Not a definite, but considering.

    * Who has done this and how does it run?
    * Does it run rich since it is on a 1200?
    * Are you running 150 psi or stock compression?
    * Aftermarket fuel controller or just stock?
    * Is it responsive on a 1200 ?
    * Any issues ?
    * Opinions .......

    If I decide to go this route, I will be looking trade my CDI and OEM carbs and convert over. I know I'll need stator cover, pick-ups, various sensors, CDI, tank w/all hardware, guage cluster and throttle bodies.

    I am just looking to build a dependable 1200 that I won't have to jack with carbs.

    WFO's EFI spoiled me

    I think you would be the first B.

    I can safely say that it will work... it may be a little fat, but too much fuel is better than not enough. We can manipulate the TPS or fuel pressure to lean it out some if needed. Who knows... with some timing and reeds it may be good to go. I know you want to stay pretty close to stock compression.

    The 1300 cable has one from the throttle that splits into two, one for the T-bodies and one for the oil pump...

    If you pre-mix you should be OK.

    On the 1200... worst case you could run the free-flow with the 1200 box.

    I got a extra 1300 box we could use for back to back testing.

    Billy - my first question is "why?". It's a fact that carbs are at least as good as EFI, and you already know how to tune the daylights out of your carbs. So what's the advantage of going EFI?
