Oil hole on X charger and McMaster washers

After changing to the new McMaster washers would there have been any way for the collar to have moved on the shaft and covered up the oil hole?
I just saw a post where someones collar had moved,
Any chance of if moving when I put on new washers and shims?

not likely IF thats all you did...If your unsure about it you can easily check it by taking a can of WD-40 with a red straw attached to it,take the straw and stick it into the oil hole on the end of the shaft and spray it in there..if you see oil coming out of the 4 grooves on the gear then the collar has not shifted...IF no oil comes out of them holes then i would be checking it to make sure it hasnt shifted...

The only way to slip a shaft is improper removal of the loc-tited parts or turning the impeller nut the wrong way. If all you apply is 22FT/LBS on installation or removal you are fine.

Would you have to get a new shaft, or can you move the collar back to its original position?

Correct they are pressed on,for the average person Yes it is much easier to get a new shaft,BUT they can be fixed by drilling and adding a pinch pin to hold the collar in place...this is not something for the average Joe to mess with, but can be done....
