    High Maintenance??

I am thinking about purchasing a used 2009 gtx 255 IS with 70 hrs on it.

    My questions are:

Is this a reliable ski? Or is it a problem child?

Also I read online somewhere about a design flaw that allows water to accumulate in the footwells which can flood the engine bay and sink it !!!

I want to be able to put it on a mooring overnight in 2 foot ocean chop.

I wouldn't let any ski sit in water overnight.

Not sure it would be safe leaving any PWC in a 2 foot Ocean chop overnite!! Under normal condition this ski gets very little accumulation of water in the footwells. If it was to get any water in the footwells it is designed where it would not get into the hull. You can look at the design by pulling up the OEM parts section and put your year and model and look at the hull design.

Ok cool, will not leave overnight.

Couldn't find much on the internet
Are there any known issues with any of the following?

    1. Engine/supercharger?

    2. Suspension?

    3. Bells and whistles?

Just seems like a lot of technology just waiting to take a sh$t

One of my riding buddies has one and has had no problems at all. If you do your routine services you should be ok. You should have your supercahrger rebuilt at 100 hours. This is recommended by most. I am sure there are owners that have had some issues but don't feel that it has been any more issues than most Watercraft. There is a setion on this site about new owners I would suggest you read it. It is very helpful.

If you want to leave it in the water stick a bilge pump such as 1000gph automatic rule or even a pair.

Even if your not going to leave it in the water put a bilge pump in it.
