    Speed freaks racing nose cone

After a few hours of riding this is what I found when I went to change my prop over.. I found it with the thread broken and just sitting loose on the shaft. I guess the picture tell you .

Has any one else had this problem??

Could it have been overtightened? Overtightening versus Loctite and the proper tightness will hold the same, but one will be harder on the threads.

I remember the threads on mine looking a little delicate. But i dont tend to overtighten things (because nothing more annoying than damaged threads) and also after mine came loose once, i ran it back on with red lock tight. so, do you think yours was overtightened (as mentioned already)?
I ride in fresh water, so im lucky enough to not worry about corrosion on mine.

this happened to me as well, it comes loose and then the alum is just so soft it gets chewed up beating against the prop. i think if these were 6061 alum it wouldn't happen

New SFR Nose cone for S-3 hulls and beyond

Here's the SFR new nose cone I'm using with great results. It is longer, to cover up the tapered shaft of the 2010-2011 drive shafts. I hand tightened it up with Red Loctite and let it set up for 48 hours prior to use.

We have had the same thing happen. Just use the Solas green cone or the R&D now.

Im 100% that I only hand tighten it. Any way I guess I'll be just have to use Solas or r&d.
