FZR 2011 is different with speed mods?

    Guys,

I've been reading allot about these FZR speed mods and done a couple my self. Now I'm wondering since most of the people that have speed mods have the 09 FZR, if the 2011 has changes that none has noticed yet or I just have a different ski or maybe my GPS is no good!

    Mod's so far:
    Riva through hull exhaust.
    Riva Power Filter
    Intake Ribbon delete
    Intake manifold Isolator.
    RD Intake grate.
    Riva Pump seal kit.

Before I even picked up the Ski from the Dealer I had them put in the Intake Grate and the pump seal kit.

    Conditions fort lauderdale weather (temps)
Rider varies between my gf and me (120 lbs and 190lbs)
Speeds recorded mostly less then half or 1/4 tank of gas and trim in neutral.

First highes speed ever recorded on the ski was 65.7

Then I just did the exhaust and highes speed recorded was 67.7

Now with all the upgrades higes speed recorded was 68.0

I think these values are pretty low compared to other forum members. Everyone seems to get the best results at trim neutral position. So yeaterday I was wondering why my speeds are slightly lower and started playing with the Trim and got a fastest speed of 69.0 with the trim on the highest level.

    Any opinions here?

Got a Jim modified VX plate in the Mail and I'll post the results here.

Anytime you increase HP your impeller must match the increase.

Yes I agree and that probably will be my next investment rather sooner then later.
But if i read Jerry's FZR build he doesn't mention anything about changing the impeller on these mods but yet his speeds seemed to be about 2MPH faster.

+1 on repitching the prop. With your mods Id bet your into the limiter and not realizing it.

Call Jim. Ask him to setup your ski...
Lots of speed left on the table!

Have you played with the plate angle? Removed the fzr plate spacers?

If I send my Impeller to Impros and get a stage 3 what should I repitch to according to some on the Forum it should be a 13/22 others say it should be a 13/20 or 13/21?

What prop are we talking about here? Repitching the stock prop to those pitches isn't going to do much. The stock prop needs to have the leading edge opened up to 15 or 16 degrees. I run a pitched 13/20 skat @ 7650 with the mods in my sig.

With the same mods as you (stock rideplate, stock prop) back in 2010 I ran 69.8. So Yes, I picked up a 1.2 mph from the stock ski. But then I added a 13/23 skat and was running 71+ all day at 7450. So with the 13/20 on there I probably would have been running closer to 72.

Yes sorry I was talking about the stock impeller. So mike according to you it's not wise to repitch my stock prop?
