04 FX HO Rebuild question for the experts

Putting an FX HO back together that I completely rebuilt, but I ran into a problem. In the attached pic, is there suppose to be a pin/shaft that goes into the end of the oil pump drive gear (Part #1 in pic with red arrow) to mate up with the boss that comes off the back of the engine block. I dont remember anything being there during the tear down, and I see nothing in the parts diagrams, but it would make sense that you would need something to support that end of the gear, and also the fact that there is a matching boss that the gear mates up to on the engine block. I dont wont to reassemble the motor only to leave out a critical part. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Joe

Well, I thought someone would have responded, oh well. Got a break weather today and got the ski out, first time since the rebuild, turning 10,500. I guess I did something right,
