Would an R&D powershot have any benefit for a mostly Stage 1 FZS, and if so how. Thanks

I don't think so. At 7800rpm, you're not making more boost than the boost limiter allows. (unless you are on the boost limiter, which is tough to do on a stage1 ski). IMO too much tuning for very little, if any benefit.

You won't benefit at all from the fuel tuning capabilities, but you will have a slight gain in top end from the raised boost limiter. A stage 1 ski will lose ~1psi to the boost limiter if it's propped correctly. It's not a huge difference in performance...only about a 1mph gain in top speed. Unless you plan to further mod the ski where you would benefit from the fuel tuning capabilities of the PS, it's probably a waste of money. The Riva boost clamp would be a better & cheaper alternative for your setup, but IMO $200 is still a lot to spend for such a small performance gain.
