    Exhaust alarm???

    Greenhulk buds,

I got a question went out with my bud and his 2007 rxp was running fine but all of a sudden his exhaust alarm started going off and it sounded like the exhaust got louder all of a sudden then started to idle down and idle rough... What can that possibly mean? We also noticed some water in the hull and it seem like it was coming in thru the rub rail on the rear portside corner and the water was touching the bottom of the exhaust! Input is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like something either clogged the water inlet/passages or a cooling hose came off causing the exhaust to over heat...

When we got back we flushed it and it ran fine and the alarm didn't go off but i will have him check the hoses first because there was a nice amount of water in the hull so that makes since!

+1. Water in the hull would indicate a hose has come off or split.

Sometimes small splits/pinholes in a coolant hose dont leak much until the motor is fully warmed up and the hose is heatened up and with the motor under load etc. (hot coolant cycling around).
At home on the trailor, the system probably cooled off enough and at idle, and that potential split or hole wont leak within just 1 minute or so of running on the flush hose.
And so, if it is a hole like that, you wont specifically find it until you remove it and give a very close inspection. Therefore, I wouldnt hunt and guess around too too long on the trailor before I'd just yank a hose or two off the portside of the system.

Also, where is his coolant level at right now??

Gonna check that this week i am bringing it to my home to check it out as he is on vacation... First things first i will check the coolant then remove all cooling hoses one by one and inspecting closely!

im guess you popped an exhaust hose. the rough low idle could mean an exhaust leak and its choking out the engine.
