VTS not working with Riva ECU

Did a search and couldnt find my answer...

I have never had a problem with my VTS until I installed the Riva ECU. I had the dealer reprogram the keys and mate up the gauge cluster with the ECU.
I can see on the gauge the trim position, but when I try to adjust it, I just hear a click and no movement.
It seems pretty coincidental if the issue is unrelated to the install of the ECU but given that it is clicking I assumed it is activated and trying to work...

    Any ideas?

it might need to be switched on with BUDS in the ecu

On the 2 stroke machines -- same module and trim motor as these 4 strokes-- clicking mean bad 7.5 amp fuse, module problems or trim motor is bad.

Plug your original ecu in and see if your trim works-- may save a trip and $$ at the dealer for something you can do yourself.

+1.......Check the fuse first,if its not blown then go for the motor..I have already replaced 2 of these motors in my skis, they dont last long for some odd reason...Make sure you dont have anything stuck or restricting the nozzle...if not the take the motor out and inspect the gear rod to make sure it didnt get stripped either...The trim system is pretty simple...

So, after all this time, I finally got off my a$$ to take a look at what was going on. I removed the vts unit and tested it on the bench. The motor was clicking but just appeared to be jammed. I wriggled the vts rod back and forth a few times, then it started working for some strange reason . I took the motor out of the housing and inspected everything. It all looked clean and corrosion free. It is working good for the time being, but is this a sign that the motor is getting a little long in the tooth?
