Strange problem with the SHO yesterday

Was out yesterday with a Ghulker from NC, & after doing a couple runs around the lake we stopped to talk & shut the skis off. When I restarted the SHO it had no power & would only rev to 3500 rpm -- not even enough to get on plane. I shut it down & restarted several times & the problem didn't go away, so I pulled it up to the beach & went to get the truck. When I started it up to pull on the trailer it was fine again.

Anyone else ever have this happen, or any ideas what might have caused it?

Good call. That would explain it. I'll check & see if maybe there's some corrosion on it.

Have SHOdude suck the corrosion right off it!

mark, did you make sure the reverse lever was pushed in all the way? if it does it again unplug the reverse sensor, it should revv up fine but it will throw a code, IF it has anything to do with the reverse sensor, also theres a little magnet on the reverse lever siliconed in that makes contact with the sensor, make sure its still in its place.

I had the same problem on 2-3 different occasions. Found out that I was not ingaging my reverse lever all the way up so it would lock. Oldman

Yeah, I don't think the VXR's have the reverse "traction control" feature. On the SHO & FZ's there's a sensor on the reverse handle to limit the revs.
