97 SL Motor in a 98 SLTH
Will a Motor from a 97 SL drop into a 98 SLTH?
They are both 700 twins but I do a part crossreference and some of the parts are listed as different.
Mine had a rod seize on the cank and I can get this motor complete for less them buying a Cank and rod.

Yes you can, however the 98 version is more powerful. 95 HP as opposed to 80-85 for the 97 version. I think the cylinders are ported differently. I would personally just fix your 98. A new crank and maybe some fresh piston rings and you should be good for a long time

Thanks for all your help BryanP. As you can see from my other thread on my SLTX. This summer was pretty rough on both my skis. I had to do the top end on the other one because the oil injection failed and now I have to do the bottom on this one. Plus now I'm now having carb issues with the SLTX. So I'm kinda trying to get both running for as little as I reasonally can without going cheap. I fugure if I buy the whole motor I'll have two extra jugs i can just pop in at any time.
