    GP1200 Crank Replacement

    Looking more like I'm going to pull my engine back apart and replace the crank (just finished top end adn am having issues). How difficult is it to replace the crank? Never done it before. And can it be done with the bottom end in the ski, or does the bottom case have to be pulled? Thanks.

    torque wrench and huge pipe wrench will help a lot

    You'll need a flywheel puller - they also make a tool that holds the drive coupling but I use a broom handle for that

    Where can I get the flywheel puller? Is it just a normal puller used in general mechanical work (already have a few), or is it a jet ski specific puller? I'm thinking I might have time to look at this next week over the holiday........ Thanks.

    hey don ,a regular harmonic puller will do it. use three head bolts to screw in the flywheel .do not use heat on the flywheel just tap the center bolt on the puller with a hammer,and it will come free.

    What type of sealant do ya'll recomment when I put the crank seals in? I know some are regarded better than others. Thanks.
